DepressionAre you suffering or concerned about anxiety or depression — and exercise seems like the last thing you want to do. Even if you aren’t in the mood for it, exercise is good for your mind and body. In other words, the best thing for anxiety and mild to moderate depression is regular exercise. Even a little regular exercise helps. According to a recent study in the Journal of Health Psychology, people with a low sense of self-confidence gained greater confidence not by how hard they exercised, how fast they ran, or how much they “benched”, but rather by whether they exercised at all. One of the critical factors to also recognise here is that fitness, although important, is only part of the story. A holistic approach for real change needs to be considered. A whole-person approach, including medical, physical, psychological, emotional, nutritional, fitness, core stability, and spiritual factors.
